Solo Requirements

Guidelines for being a Featured Skater—Parade Spring Ice Show, April 30 and May 1, 2010

A skater must obtain NINE or more points to be a featured skater in the Spring Ice Show. SIX of the points come from the required list below. The remaining THREE points can be achieved by completing a variety of activities from the Variable requirement list below:

Fixed Requirements (all 6 points must be earned):

1 point = Member PFSC
1 point = Current Member of ISI
1 point = Passed Freestyle 5 (or FS 4 for Duets/Trio) by January 2010 test date (currently scheduled on 1/16/2010)
1 point = Purchase minimum of two PFSC Ice Contracts or one PFSC and one SQSA Ice Contract by November 14, 2009
1 point = Compete in the Blades of March Competition* (3+ indiv. events)
1 point = Participate in one additional ISI Competition*(2 events or more)

General Requirement: All ISI tests taken during the year must be taken at the periodic PFSC/SQSA ISI test sessions held at Parade, or for higher level skaters, at an ISI District 10 test sessions.

Variable Requirements (earn 3 or more points among the following choices):

1 point = Additional ISI Competitions as a solo competitor* (One point for each competition entered (not event)
1 point = Being a year around member of a Parade Synchronized Skating Team
1 point – Participating in a Parade Team Compulsory Teams
1 point = Purchasing Additional Ice Contracts (PFSC or SQSA)
1 point = High School Senior
1 point = Perform Solo/Duet/Trio in Winter Exhibition at Parade (01/16/2010) (Skating synchro only does NOT count toward these points)
1 point = Compete in Upper Great Lakes Regional Competition

All requirements MUST be met. There will be NO exceptions given!!!
These requirement apply to skaters who have passed Freestyle 4 and higher and who wish to be a featured skater in the Spring Ice Show (Soloists, Duet/Trio). Test Date Deadline: January 2010 ISI test session (currently scheduled for 1/16/2010).

Solo / Duet / Trio Show Skating Assignments:

Freestyle 4 = Duet / Trio in 3 shows
Freestyle 5,6,7,8,9 and 10 = Solo in 3 shows

* A skater must be representing the Parade FSC at ISI competitions for the points to be recognized. (Competition requirements are based on the PFSC fiscal calendar, which runs from May 1, 2009 thoughApril 30. 2010. (If you competed in solo events at the Summer Sizzle 2009 in Blaine or at the 2009 ISI World’s in San Jose CA, you have already earned point(s) if you were listed as representing Parade).

All Soloists, Duets and Trio’s MUST also skate their assigned group number in the Ice Show performances.

NOTE: The above requirements do not apply to skaters who just wish to skate in a group number in the Spring Ice Show.

All skaters taking Learn to Skate Classes and/or PFSC members are invited and encouraged to participate in a group number in the Spring Ice Show!

All skaters participating in the Ice Show are also invited to sign up to skate in the Family number. The number will consist of at least one skater and one other member of their family.

Group number assignments: Skaters will be grouped by ISI level and all skaters must pass the appropriate level for their group number by the January 2010 ISI test session (currently scheduled for January 16, 2010).

We may be doing a Senior skate number this year depending on the number of graduating Senior’s, replacing a Senior recognition ice show segment. This number will be opened to all HS seniors (including skaters who may only be skating on a Synchro team).
